Israel Is The Fig Tree

Matthew 24:32-39

32 "Now learn this parable from the fig
tree: When its branch has already
become tender and puts forth leaves,
you know that summer is near. 33 So you
also, when you see all these things, know
that it is near--at the doors!
34 Assuredly, I say to you, this
generation will by no means pass away
till all these things take place.
35 Heaven and earth will pass away, but
My words will by no means pass away.
36 "But of that day and hour no one
knows, not even the angels of heaven,
but My Father only.
37 But as the days of Noah were, so also
will the coming of the Son of Man be. 38
For as in the days before the flood, they
were eating and drinking, marrying and
giving in marriage, until the day that
Noah entered the ark, 39 and did not
know until the flood came and took
them all away, so also will the coming of
the Son of Man be.
32 "Now learn this parable from the fig
tree: When its branch has already
become tender and puts forth leaves,
you know that summer is near. 33 So you
also, when you see all these things, know
that it is near--at the doors!
Matthew 24:3
3 Now as He sat on the Mount of Olives,
the disciples came to Him privately,
saying, "Tell us, when will these things be?
And what will be the sign of Your coming,
and of the end of the age?"
33 Serpents, brood of vipers! How can
you escape the condemnation of hell? 34
Therefore, indeed, I send you prophets,
wise men, and scribes: some of them you
will kill and crucify, and some of them
you will scourge in your synagogues and
persecute from city to city,
Amos 9:14-15
14 I will bring back my exiled people
Israel; they will rebuild the ruined cities
and live in them. They will plant vineyards
and drink their wine; they will make
gardens and eat their fruit. 15 I will plant
Israel in their own land, never again to be
uprooted from the land I have given
them,” says the Lord your God.
Amos 9:14-15
14 I will bring back my exiled people
Israel; they will rebuild the ruined cities
and live in them. They will plant vineyards
and drink their wine; they will make
gardens and eat their fruit. 15 I will plant
Israel in their own land, never again to be
uprooted from the land I have given
them,” says the Lord your God.
Ezekiel 37:10-14
10 So I prophesied as He commanded me,
and breath came into them, and they
lived, and stood upon their feet, an
exceedingly great army. 11 Then He said
to me, "Son of man, these bones are the
whole house of Israel. They indeed say,
'Our bones are dry, our hope is lost, and
we ourselves are cut off!'
12 "Therefore prophesy and say to them,
'Thus says the Lord GOD: "Behold, O My
people, I will open your graves and cause you
to come up from your graves, and bring you
into the land of Israel. 13 Then you shall know
that I am the LORD, when I have opened your
graves, O My people, and brought you up from
your graves. 14 I will put My Spirit in you, and
you shall live, and I will place you in your own
land. Then you shall know that I, the LORD,
have spoken it and performed it," says the
LORD.' "
Isaiah 66:7-8
7 "Before she was in labor, she gave birth;
Before her pain came, She delivered a
male child. 8 Who has heard such a thing?
Who has seen such things? Shall the earth
be made to give birth in one day? Or shall
a nation be born at once? For as soon as
Zion was in labor, She gave birth to her
children.
Jeremiah 16:14-15
14 "Therefore behold, the days are
coming," says the LORD, "that it shall no
more be said, 'The LORD lives who
brought up the children of Israel from the
land of Egypt,' 15 "but, 'The LORD lives
who brought up the children of Israel
from the land of the north and from all
the lands where He had driven them.' For
I will bring them back into their land
which I gave to their fathers.
Ezekiel 34:11-13
11'For thus says the Lord GOD: "Indeed I
Myself will search for My sheep and seek
them out. 12 As a shepherd seeks out his
flock on the day he is among his scattered
sheep, so will I seek out My sheep and
deliver them from all the places where
they were scattered on a cloudy and dark
day.
13 And I will bring them out from the
peoples and gather them from the
countries, and will bring them to their
own land; I will feed them on the
mountains of Israel, in the valleys and in
all the inhabited places of the country.
25 Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees,
hypocrites! For you cleanse the outside
of the cup and dish, but inside they are
full of extortion and self-indulgence. 26
Blind Pharisee, first cleanse the inside of
the cup and dish, that the outside of
them may be clean also.
27 Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees,
hypocrites! For you are like whitewashed
tombs which indeed appear beautiful
outwardly, but inside are full of dead
men's bones and all uncleanness. 28
Even so you also outwardly appear
righteous to men, but inside you are full
of hypocrisy and lawlessness.
29 Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees,
hypocrites! Because you build the tombs
of the prophets and adorn the
monuments of the righteous, 30 and say,
'If we had lived in the days of our fathers,
we would not have been partakers with
them in the blood of the prophets.' 31
"Therefore you are witnesses against
yourselves that you are sons of those who
murdered the prophets. 32 Fill up, then,
the measure of your fathers' guilt.
Jeremiah 26:20-23
20 Now there was also a man who prophesied
in the name of the LORD, Urijah the son of
Shemaiah of Kirjath Jearim, who prophesied
against this city and against this land according
to all the words of Jeremiah. 21 And when
Jehoiakim the king, with all his mighty men
and all the princes, heard his words, the king
sought to put him to death; but when Urijah
heard it, he was afraid and fled, and went to
Egypt.
34 Assuredly, I say to you, this generation
will by no means pass away till all these
things take place.
Psalm 102:16-18
16 For the Lord shall build up Zion; He
shall appear in His glory. 17 He shall
regard the prayer of the destitute, And
shall not despise their prayer. 18 This will
be written for the generation to come,
That a people yet to be created may
praise the Lord.
The phrase “generation to come” means
terminal generation which is the last
generation. Israel, and especially
Jerusalem, are signs to watch. It’s not
about the date—it’s about the season.
35 Heaven and earth will pass away, but
My words will by no means pass away.
Psalm 119:89-91
89 Forever, O LORD, Your word is settled in
heaven. 90 Your faithfulness endures to all
generations; You established the earth, and
it abides. 91 They continue this day
according to Your ordinances, For all are
Your servants.
2 Peter 3:8-13
8 But, beloved, do not forget this one thing,
that with the Lord one day is as a thousand
years, and a thousand years as one day. 9 The
Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as
some count slackness, but is longsuffering
toward us, not willing that any should perish
but that all should come to repentance.
10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief
in the night, in which the heavens will pass
away with a great noise, and the elements will
melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the
works that are in it will be burned up. 11
Therefore, since all these things will be
dissolved, what manner of persons ought you
to be in holy conduct and godliness,
12 looking for and hastening the coming
of the day of God, because of which the
heavens will be dissolved, being on fire,
and the elements will melt with fervent
heat? 13 Nevertheless we, according to
His promise, look for new heavens and a
new earth in which righteousness dwells.
36 "But of that day and hour no one
knows, not even the angels of heaven, but
My Father only.
Psalm 139:16
(Amplified Bible)
Your eyes saw my unformed
substance, and in Your book all
the days [of my life] were written
before ever they took shape, when
as yet there was none of them.
1 Thessalonians 4:13-18
3 But I do not want you to be ignorant,
brethren, concerning those who have
fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others
who have no hope. 14 For if we believe
that Jesus died and rose again, even so
God will bring with Him those who sleep
in Jesus.
15 For this we say to you by the word of
the Lord, that we who are alive and
remain until the coming of the Lord will
by no means precede those who are
asleep. 16 For the Lord Himself will
descend from heaven with a shout, with
the voice of an archangel, and with the
trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ
will rise first.
17 Then we who are alive and remain
shall be caught up together with them in
the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And
thus we shall always be with the Lord. 18
Therefore comfort one another with these
words.
37 But as the days of Noah were, so also
will the coming of the Son of Man be. 38
For as in the days before the flood, they
were eating and drinking, marrying and
giving in marriage, until the day that
Noah entered the ark, 39 and did not
know until the flood came and took
them all away, so also will the coming of
the Son of Man be.
Genesis 7:17-24
17 Now the flood was on the earth forty
days. The waters increased and lifted up
the ark, and it rose high above the earth.
18 The waters prevailed and greatly
increased on the earth, and the ark
moved about on the surface of the
waters.
19 And the waters prevailed exceedingly
on the earth, and all the high hills under
the whole heaven were covered. 20 The
waters prevailed fifteen cubits upward,
and the mountains were covered. 21 And
all flesh died that moved on the earth:
birds and cattle and beasts and every
creeping thing that creeps on the earth,
and every man.
22 All in whose nostrils was the breath of
the spirit of life, all that was on the dry
land, died. 23 So He destroyed all living
things which were on the face of the
ground: both man and cattle, creeping
thing and bird of the air. They were
destroyed from the earth. Only Noah and
those who were with him in the ark
remained alive. 24 And the waters
prevailed on the earth one hundred and
fifty days.
1 Peter 3:18-22
18 For Christ also suffered once for sins,
the just for the unjust, that He might bring
us to God, being put to death in the flesh
but made alive by the Spirit, 19 by whom
also He went and preached to the spirits
in prison,
20 who formerly were disobedient, when
once the Divine longsuffering waited in
the days of Noah, while the ark was being
prepared, in which a few, that is, eight
souls, were saved through water. 21 There
is also an antitype which now saves us-baptism (not the removal of the filth of
the flesh, but the answer of a good
conscience toward God), through the
resurrection of Jesus Christ,
22 who has gone into heaven and is at the
right hand of God, angels and authorities
and powers having been made subject to
Him.
