What is Modernism?
 The modernist period= beginning of twentieth
century→1965
 Experimentation and individualism
 Experimentation and individualism were frowned upon
 Didn’t focus on one thing, went beyond what other eras did
Modernists
 Didn’t follow traditional ways of seeing the world
 Challenged and experimented with traditional form
and expectations
 Mixed slang with more intelligent language
