Earth Day is a day for people to protect
the earth’s environment…all the baby
animals and plants

The first Earth Day, in 1970, focused on
ecology, respecting life on Earth, and
raising awareness of different types of
pollution (soil, air, and water)

Ecology is how animals and plants, the
weather, and people interact, or work
together
(Daisies) Who has learned about farm
animals? What are some animals?
 (Brownies) Who has learned about
different animals that live in the ocean?
What are some of those animals?


Pollution is anything on the land, in the
water, or in the air that is harmful.
Can somebody give me an example of
pollution? (Daisies)

air pollution? (Brownies)


part in Earth Day activities and

actually can make the world a
better place (like we say in our
Girl Scout Law)!
