Perennial Ryegrass
Annual ryegrass, a bunchgrass, is widely used for overseeding winter
pasture in the southeastern United States. It is an aggressive grass
that will provide high productivity during the growing season, so the
percentage of annual rye in the mixture should not be too high. Annual
ryegrass is recognized as one of the highest quality cool-season grasses.
In a leafy stage, it is high in protein, digestibility, and many vitamins and
minerals. It also is quite palatable to grazing animals.
Perennial ryegrass, a bunchgrass, is short-lived due to its lack of
winter-hardiness. It is ideally used for pasture, hay, silage or soil
erosion. Perennial ryegrass is often planted with legumes and other
grasses to produce large amounts of high-quality forage. Ensure
that the percentage of perennial ryegrass in a mixture is not too
high as to compete with slower emerging grasses and legumes.

Tetrabana Italian Annual Ryegrass
Tetrabana tetraploid Italian ryegrass is a cool-season, short-lived annual bunchgrass.
It offers high levels of digestible carbohydrates which contribute to increased weight
gain and milk yield. The well developed root system supports additional top growth and
provides cattle with a cleaner, healthier environment when wet conditions exist.
• Highly palatable
• Excellent for high-traffic or wet pastures
• Rapid establishment – ideal for intensive grazing, renovating pastures

Endo-Graze XL Tetraploid
Perennial Ryegrass
Endo-Graze XL Brand is a blend of improved tetraploid perennial ryegrass varieties.
Endo-Graze XL is a very erect growing forage ryegrass with good yields and rapid
establishment. Best suited for short rotations of hay or pasture; can also be
overseeded into older or thinning stands of alfalfa and other legumes.
• High-yielding with rapid establishment
• Excellent, high-quality forage in spring and fall, goes dormant in summer
• Extremely palatable
King Diploid Annual Ryegrass
Sierra Diploid Perennial Ryegrass
King is a diploid annual ryegrass. It is an aggressive producer of short-term
forage for both beef and dairy. Primarily a southern winter overseeding/
inter-seeding forage for dormant or existing pastures, King provides high
forage production over a wide geographic area.
• Extensively tested, proven performer for hay, silage and pastures
• Very good disease resistance to rust and gray leaf spot
• Very suitable cover crop when followed by no-till corn and soybeans
• Excellent cold tolerance compared to other annual ryegrasses
An early maturing new generation diploid cultivar with excellent drought and cold
tolerance. Sierra has a medium-wide leaf and dense crown which is excellent for
grazing purposes. Sierra has strong seedling vigor and is highly palatable. Newer
cold tolerant varieties such as Sierra can now be planted in colder regions of
North America with confidence. It is ideal for producing high quality grass hay,
lush pastures for grazing and for creating high quality alfalfa/grass hay.
Diploid vs. Tetraploid Varieties
Tetraploid: Disease resistance, high sugar content, increased animal intake,
increased tiller density
