User instructions for ventilation system and heating

Ventilation of the house
Because of the traffic noise from the railway and the road you will often keep the windows closed. Therefore, the
building has soundproof ventilation boxes in all houses. The air in a house contaminates through the presence of
people, cooking smells, showers, smoke and other contaminants.
You live in a well-insulated house; for your own health, it is important that you properly ventilate.
To allow fresh air into the house, there is a low-noise ventilator in the wall that supplies air to the house. The
bathroom has an exhaust ventilator to remove air. In the kitchen there is a 3-position switch that allows you to
control the ventilators.
You use the three position switch best in the following manner:
Position 1: at night or when you are not at home
Position 2: during the day when you are home
Position 3: during and up to half an hour after cooking or showering.
Please note: If you set the 3-position switch, you must also set the wall ventilator.
The positions correspond to those of the switch in the kitchen. You control the
wall ventilator with the arrow keys (see image).
At the back of this device there is a button/handle to open the unit so
external air can enter.

Purge ventilation in the house
With purge ventilation you can keep your house healthy. Apart from the above-mentioned ventilation facilities,
there is also a provision to vent the house. The main goal of purge ventilation is to extract large amounts of
polluted or heated air (e.g. on hot days) in a short time. For example, in the morning after sleeping, cigarette
smoke, odour after burnt food, and so on.
To quickly fill your house with 'fresh' air, the windows can be opened along with the purge hatch located next to
the front door. Do you want to extract dirty air or excessive heat, it is best to open the windows and purge hatch
together so that fresh air can flow through the house and the dirty or heated air is extracted.
Underfloor heating Waldorpstraat 45
Your house has underfloor heating, a uniform way of heating. Heat radiation is delivered through the floor which is
the same everywhere in the room. You can adjust the temperature with the thermostat in the room. Underfloor
heating is called a ‘slow system'. If you set the thermostat a few degrees higher or lower, then it takes a few hours
before you feel the difference.
Underfloor heating works best if you change the settings as little as possible. We therefore recommend that you
do not change the settings at night. If you regularly raise or lower the temperature, it will lead to less comfort and
higher fuel costs. This system requires a great deal of extra energy to heat up. Our advice: Set the temperature
once and enjoy carefree living from this comfortable climate system.
Heating with radiators: Waldorpstraat 47
In Waldorpstraat 47 the houses have radiators with a thermostatic control button. This button can be adjusted
from * up to position 5. If you are out for a long time, turn the control button to *. This position corresponds to a
temperature of 9°C. When you are in the house, turn the control button to position 3, which is about 20°C.
Are you out during the daytime or evening, then turn the knob to position 1, which is 14°C.
