The factors of a number are all of the numbers that divide into that number.
These are the
factors of 6.
They can divide
into 6.
F6 = {1 ;2 ; 3 ;6}
this is the set of factors of 6.
When comparing the factors of different numbers there will be common factors:
F12 = {1 ; 2 ; 3 ; 4 ; 6 ; 12 }
F18 = {1 ; 2 ; 3 ; 6 ; 9 ; 18}
The common factors of 12 and 18 = {1 ; 2 ; 3 ; 6}
The Highest Common Factor (HCF) is 6
