Greatest Common Factor
The greatest common factor (GCF) of two or more numbers is the
greatest of the common factors of the numbers. To find the GCF,
you can make a list or use prime factorization.
Find the GCF of 12 and 30.
Make an organized list of the factors for each number.
12: 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 12
30: 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 10, 15, 30
The common factors are 1, 2, 3, and 6. The greatest is 6.
So, the GCF of 12 and 30 is 6.
