The
Ocean
Sunfish
Written by Joshua
Yr 4.
Ocean Sunfish are coloured dark
grey, brown, white and they can be
spotted.
They can grow up to 4.2 metres.
They are clumsy swimmers.
This is a diagram of an Ocean Sunfish.
Sunfish weigh approx.
907kg.
The biggest Ocean
Sunfish found is 961kg.
Ocean Sunfish mainly
eat jellyfish and small
fish. They don't have
teeth. They have a
beak like mouth that
they can't close.
Sunfish are
found in warm
oceans around
the world. They
like to sun bake
on their side.
A Sunfish has rough
skin. It's skin can
become infested with
parasites. Other fish eat
the parasites off the
Sunfish. The Sunfish will jump out
of the water to try and
shake the parasites off
their skin.
