ABSTRACT
Thisstudyaimedtodeterminethelevelofproficiencyinthesubject-verbagreementofthe
collegestudents.Thisstudyofgrammarwillhelpstudentsbecomebetterusersofthelanguage,that
is,moreefficientaslistenersandspeakers,andespeciallyasreadersandwriters. This study focuses on the level of proficiency in the Subject-Verb agreement of the college
studentssothatwe,asagroupresearcher,willbemotivatedtoengageandknowmorereasonswhy
most students are weak as regards to Subject- Verb agreement. Students are going to put more
emphasisonthestudynatureandbehaviorofverbsasonthepartsofspeech.
ThisstudyalsoemphasizesthecorrectpatternoftheSubject-Verbagreementhelpstudents
towriteandspeakmorewithgrammaticallapses.ThisstudywillhelpEnglishmajorstudentstoget
75%passingrateinEnglish,andtomonitorthemabouttheirprincipalsubjects.Theimportanceof
thisstudyistoidentifythecommonmistakesoftheCollegestudentsinusingthecorrectformofthe
Subject-VerbagreementaswellastostrengthentheirknowledgetounderstandtheruleofSubjectVerb agreement. This study of grammar is important because language is a supreme human
achievement that deserves to be considered as such. This study will also help students’ master
Englishlanguagemorequickly.
