4. The statement that “God cannot get better than he
already is” can be shocking to people. Why is this true?
What about the statement that you can do something
that God cannot do; you can get better!

Can Count on God - He Never Changes”
Three Things About God that Never Change:
I. God’s love for me never changes.
"I have loved you with an everlasting love." Jeremiah 31:3
5. Do you find it interesting that these big attributes of God,
like his immutability (unchangeable) have an impact on
our everyday lives? Go back through the 3 main points
of the sermon and discuss how each of these matter to
you personally. (God’s Love, God’s Word, and God’s
plan)
The Point? I never need to doubt God’s love.
"... nothing will be able to separate us from the love of
God."
Romans 8:38
II. God’s Word never changes.
“The grass withers and the flowers fade, but the word of
our God stands forever.”
Isaiah 40:8
“Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not
pass away.”
Matthew 24:35
“Long have I known from your testimonies that you have
founded them forever.”
Psalms 119:152
“Now the serpent was more crafty than any other beast of
the field that the Lord God had made. He said to the woman, “Did God actually say, ‘You shall not eat of any tree in
the garden’?”
Genesis 3:1
“Anyone who listens to my teaching and follows it is wise,
like a person who builds a house on solid rock.”
Matthew 7:24
The Point? If I want stability in my life I must build on
God’s unchangeable Word!

III. God’s plan for my life never changes.
“The Lord of hosts has sworn: “As I have planned, so shall it
be, and as I have purposed, so shall it stand.” Isaiah 14:24
For Further Study:
1. Who in your family, as you were growing up, was the
most changeable?
“The counsel of the Lord stands forever, the plans of his
heart to all generations.”
Psalms 33:11
“And he who is the Glory of Israel will not lie, nor will he
change his mind, for he is not human that he should change
his mind!”
1 Samuel 15:29 (NLT)
"His ways are eternal."
Habakkuk 3:6
The Point? God’s purpose is bigger than my problems.
2. A lot of people refer to a person (s) as their rock. That is
a person who is always there for you and you can
depend on. Do you have someone in your life right now
that you think of as your rock? Share something about
that person.
God’s Purpose: (for your life)
“I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.”
John 10:10
“In him we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to the purpose of him who works all
things according to the counsel of his will, so that we who
were the first to hope in Christ might be to the praise of his
glory.”
Ephesians 1:11-12
“This is the will of God, your sanctification; to live a holy life.”
1 Thessalonians 4:3
In conclusion:
1) God will never stop loving me.
2) God's word is always right.
3) God's purpose for my life is bigger than my problems.
3. Thinking of the statement by astronaut Allen Shepherd
about God’s laws never changing, what are some of the
things in the realm of nature that we constantly count
on, but seldom think about?
