Infrastructure for information sharing** 2. Data development / Modeling / Research & Devt. 3. Decision support – e.g. emergency response** (i.e. GEOSS societal benefits) 4. Capacity-building SERVIR Portal Structure www.servir.net • Four Main Components: 1. Online Database / Metadata Catalog 2. Interactive Maps 3. Decision Support Tools 4. Visualizations www.servir.net 1. Information Infrastructure •One-stop spatial data warehouse •Seamless database of vector and raster data covering all of Mesoamerica •Web-based system for selection & delivery of geospatial data •Imagery: AirSAR, JERS1, LandSat, MASTER, MODIS, SRTM •Vector data: Admin. boundaries, ecosystems, rivers, watersheds, roads, protected areas, etc. 3. Decision Support Tools Decision support tools relevant to region are offered for a variety of thematic areas (based on GEOSS Societal Benefit Areas): 1. Climate (Climate Change scenarios / Cloud Climatology) 2. Disasters (Monitoring of earthquakes, fires, flooding, volcanoes, weather extremes) 3. Ecology (ecological productivity forecasts 4. Energy (SWERA products) 5. Human Health (Harmful Algal Bloom monitoring) 6. Oceans (Harmful Algal Blooms / SST monitoring) 7. Water (Flood monitoring) 8. Weather (nowcasts; 24-/48-hour forecasts) Chlorophyll Concentration September 14, 2006 http://servir.nasa.cathalac.org • Enhanced Vegetation Index • Gross Primary Productivity • Land Surface Temperature • Leaf Area Index • Net Primary Productivity 2005 2010 2020 2025 2050 2100 3.
