Contradictions in scripture
Contradictions in the New Testament
Contradictions in the Old Testament
In Matthew 2:16 Herod has all the baby boys killed.
Yet this never happened according to historical
records.
Genesis 6:4 claims “there were giants in the earth in
those days.” Funny how we haven’t found any
archeaological evidence for this.
In Matthew 4:8 the Devil kidnaps Jesus and takes him
to a temple at the top of "an exceedingly high
mountain," high enough to see "all the kingdoms of
the world.“ I guess the world was flat back then.
Noah sends a dove out but it fails to find any dry land.
Then 7 days letter it returns with a leaf from an olive
tree. Apparently olive trees can survive underwater.
In Matthew 13:32 Jesus states that the mustard seed
is the smallest seed there is. And since there are no
trees in the mustard family, mustard seeds do not
grow into "the greatest of all trees.“
In Matthew 24:29 Jesus implies that the moon
produces it’s own light, “the moon shall not give her
light, and the stars shall fall from heaven.“
In Matthew 2:1 and Luke 1:5 it states Jesus was born
during the rain of king Herod. Herod died in 4BC. In
Luke 2:1 Quirinius was govenor of Syria which he
didn’t become until 6CE, 10 years after Herod’s
death.
In John 3:8 Jesus says you cannot know which way
the wind is blowing, "The wind bloeth where it listeth,”
which of course, isn’t true.
In Romans 10:18 Paul claims that everyone has
heard the Gospels been preached. Yet there are still
missionaries finding new people to preach to even
today let alone back then when much of the world
was not known about.
In Genesis 11:1 it is claimed “the whole earth was of
one language” but of course in reality there were
many different languages even in 2400BC.
In Genesis 21:32 it is claimed Abraham “returned to
the land of the Philistines” however the Philistines did
not arrive in the area of Canaan until 1200BC, 800
years after Abraham is said to have migrated.
In Leviticus 11:19 God claims the bat is a bird. We
now know this isn’t true, bats are mammals.
In Deuteronomy God says not to eat hares because
they chew the cud. In reality, hares do not.
In Job 39:13 God says that the ostrich abandons her
eggs when she has laid them. Ostriches are in fact
attentive parents that watch over their eggs.
In Psalms 93:1 it is claimed that the earth cannot be
moved. Of course the earth is actually moving all the
time.
Contradictions in the Qur’an
In 1 Timothy it says "Every creature of God is good.“
God created everything therefore he must have
created Satan. Is Satan good? If so where does the
evil come from?
sura 4:82 claims there are no contradictions in the
Qur’an. “Do they not ponder on the Qur'an? Had it
been from other than Allah, they would surely have
found therein much discrepancy.” This is a
contradiction in itself as there are contradictions in the
Qur’an.
In James 5:14 it says prayer can heal you from any
illness. Scientific studies have shown that prayer has
no medical benefits.
In sura 5 it says “slay the idolaters wherever you find
them, and take them captives and besiege them and
lie in wait for them in every ambush.”
In sura 29 it says “fight those who do not believe in
Allah, nor in the latter day, nor do they prohibit what
Allah and His Messenger have prohibited, nor follow
the religion of truth.”
Which would be fine if the Qur’an maintained this
hard line attitude, however it does not. In sura 8:61 it
says "But if the enemy incline towards peace, do thou
(also) incline towards peace, and trust in God: for He
is One that heareth and knoweth (all things).”
In sura 27 Soloman overhears ants talking. Yet ants
do not talk, they communicate using smells.
In sura 71:15 it says “do you not see how God has
created the seven heavens one above the other, and
made the moon a light in their midst” but of course
the moon does not actually produce it’s own light.
In sura 6:34 it says “there is none that can alter the
words (and decrees) of Allah” and in sura 6:115 it
says “None can change His words” yet in sura 16:101
it says “None of Our revelations do We abrogate or
cause to be forgotten, but We substitute something
better or similar.”
In sura 20:90 a Samaritan helped the Israelites build
a golden calf. However the Samaritan people did not
come into existence until 1000 years after Moses left
Egypt.
Who was the first Muslim? In sura 39:12 Muhammad
claims "And I [Muhammad] am commanded to be the
first of those who bow to Allah in Islam.” In sura 7:143
Moses claims “I am the first to believe.“ Yet according
to Islam teachings Adam and Eve were the first
Muslims.
In sura 96:2 it is claimed man was created out of “a
(mere) clot of congealed blood,“ while in sura 15:26 it
is claimed God “created man from sounding clay” and
in sura 3:59 “He created him from dust.”
