The Role
We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and self-motivated graduate to lead and deliver a two year Knowledge Transfer
Partnership (KTP) project between Creative Technologies Limited and the University of Brighton. This two year project
aims to develop a ground-breaking automated independent financial advice platform, underpinned by market-leading
financial software driven by artificial intelligence, to guide Creative Technologies clients through investment options. This
role is the second of two KTP projects being undertaken by Creative Technologies in Parternship with the University of
Brighton School of Computing, Engineering and mathematics; a first project commencing which is already underway is
gathering requirements and prototyping core software components.
KTP supports partnerships between business and universities or research organisations, placing graduates (KTP
Associates) to work on challenging, high profile projects. Further information about KTP and the advantages of being a
KTP Associate can be found at: ktp.innovateuk.org. As a KTP Associate, although you will be employed by the University of
Brighton; you will work predominantly at the company premises and be supervised by both a company staff member and an
academic team at the University.
The Company
Creative Technologies Limited develops robust and scalable compliance and practice management technology to enable
financial services companies to run professionally and efficiently. Creative Technologies and its sister companies serve the
top 10% of the UK Intermediary (IFA) market and are recognised as market leaders in software to support and regulate the
advisory market.
The Person
The successful candidate will have a minimum 2:1 BSc in Computer Science, Computer Science with Business or
equivalent and ideally a Masters degree although this could be substituted for by experience. You will have strong expertise
in design within a Microsoft software stack and relevant programming skills. Ideally you will have evidence of application
gained through project work, placement and/or work experience. The candidate will have experience of software design and
development, and expertise in languages and technologies such as C# (essential), MS-SQL server, MVC, SOA, TFS,
XAML, LINQ and Enterprise web technologies. Desirable skills include AI design and programming, mathematical skills,
database development and experience of user interface (UX) design. The successful candidate will have the aptitude to
apply technologies developed through research to a commercial scenario and the ability to understand the needs of internal
and external customers. With an ambition and ability to take ownership for a significant technical project, the successful
candidate will have a methodical and considered approach to project planning and management. You will also be an
excellent communicator, with the ability to develop strong, effective relationships and an aptitude to deliver training. You will
also be industrious and resourceful with the ability to meet objectives and deadlines with an appropriate level of supervision.
