Bayshore Gardens Community Church Believing, Again Gaining Hope Caring Relationships Christ Jesus THE CALL TO WORSHIP (Psalm 24:7-10) [ Pastor / CONGREGATION ] Minister: Lift up your heads, O gates! And be lifted up, O ancient doors, that the King of Glory may come in. People: Who is this King of Glory? The LORD, strong and mighty, the LORD, mighty in battle! Minister: Lift up your heads, O gates! And lift them up, O ancient doors, that the King of Glory may come in. People: Who is this King of Glory? The LORD of hosts, He is the King of Glory! All Glory, Laud and Honor hymn #300 All glory, laud and honor To Thee, Redeemer, King, To whom the lips of children made sweet Hosannas ring; Thou art the King of Israel, Thou David’s royal Son, Who in the Lord’s name comest, the King and Blessed One! The company of angels are praising Thee on high, And mortal men and all things created make reply; The people of the Hebrews with palms before Thee went; Our praise and prayer and anthems before Thee we present! To Thee, before Thy passion, They sang their hymns of praise, To Thee, now high exalted, our melody we raise; Thou didst accept their praises accept the praise we bring; Who in all good delightest Thou good and gracious King; Corporate Prayer of Confession ALL: O King of Glory, we confess that our praise of Your majesty has often been faint, our performance as citizens of Your kingdom treasonous. For we have surrendered to the enemy by our secret and our known sins. For our treason You died, Lord Jesus. For our restoration, You rose again. Draw us closer to You in this holy week, that our eyes may catch the vision of Your tears, and our hearts, the wonder of Your grace. By the Holy Spirit’s continuing discipline, let us be loyal and loving servants of the King. Praise be to You, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. SILENT PRAYERS OF THANKSGIVING AND CONFESSION Assurance of Pardon (John 3:17) Minister: For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through Him. The peace of the Lord be with you always. People: And also with you. Oh, How He Loves You and Me HYMN # 349 Oh, how He loves you and me Oh, how He loves you and me He gave His life What more could He give? Oh, how He loves you Oh, how He loves me Oh, how He loves you and me Jesus to Calv’ry did go; His love for sinners to show. What He did there brought hope from despair. Oh, how He loves you Oh, how He loves me Oh, how He loves you and me Isaiah 40:31 (NIV) “…those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. John 12:12-16 “The next day the large crowd that had come to the feast heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem. So they took branches of palm trees and went out to meet Him, crying out, “Hosanna! Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord, even the King of Israel!” And Jesus found a young donkey and sat on it, just as it is written, “Fear not, daughter of Zion; behold, your King is coming, sitting on a donkey’s colt!” His disciples did not understand these things at first, but when Jesus was glorified, then they remembered that these things had been written about Him and had been done to Him.” Colossians 1:19-20 For in Him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell, and through Him to reconcile to Himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace by the blood of His cross Minister: The grass withers, and the flowers fade, but the Word of the Lord is forever. People: Thanks be to our great God Chancel Choir “ Hosanna Sing Praises” The Lord’s Prayer OUR FATHER, WHO ART IN HEAVEN, HALLOWED BE THY NAME. THY KINGDOM COME, THY WILL BE DONE, ON EARTH AS IT IS IN HEAVEN. GIVE US THIS DAY OUR DAILY BREAD, AND FORGIVE US OUR DEBTS AS WE FORGIVE OUR DEBTORS; AND LEAD US NOT INTO TEMPTATION BUT DELIVER US FROM EVIL. FOR THINE IS THE KINGDOM, AND THE POWER, AND THE GLORY FOREVER AMEN The Solid Rock Hymn # 526 My hope is built on nothing less Than Jesus’ blood and righteousness; I dare not trust the sweetest frame, But wholly lean on Jesus’ name. On Christ the solid Rock I stand; All other ground is sinking sand, All other ground is sinking sand. When darkness veils His lovely face, I rest on His unchanging grace; In every high and stormy gale, My anchor holds within the veil. On Christ the solid Rock I stand; All other ground is sinking sand, All other ground is sinking sand. His oath, His covenant, His blood Support me in the whelming flood; When all around my soul gives way He then is all my hope and stay. On Christ the solid Rock I stand; All other ground is sinking sand, All other ground is sinking sand. When He shall come with trumpet sound, O may I then in Him be found; Dressed in His righteousness alone, Faultless to stand before the throne On Christ the solid Rock I stand; All other ground is sinking sand, All other ground is sinking sand. Amazing Grace Hymn # 343 Amazing grace How sweet the sound That saved a wretch like me I once was lost, But now am found Was blind, but now I see ‘Twas grace that taught My heart to fear, And grace my fears relieved; How precious did That grace appear The hour I first believed The Lord has promised good to me; His Word my hope secures. He will my shield and portion be As long as life endures Through many dangers, Toils and snares, I have already come; ‘Tis grace hath brought me safe thus far, And grace will lead me home When we’ve been there Ten thousand years Bright shining as the sun We’ve no less days to sing God’s praise Than when we’d first begun THE PASTORAL BENEDICTION Go forth from this place as God’s elect and covenant people . . .
