Rounding Decimals
Rounding Decimals
To round a decimal, first underline the digit to be
rounded. Then look at the digit to the right of the
place being rounded.
 If the number is 5 or above, give the number
underlined a shove.
 If the number is 4 or below, leave the number
underlined alone.
Rounding Decimals
Round 1.324 to the nearest whole number.
1.324
Round 99.96 to the nearest tenth.
99.96
Examples
1. A bag of potato chips costs $0.2572 per
ounce. How much is this to the nearest
cent?

Round the gas prices to the nearest cent.
