Aims and tasks of the project
 To establish an German wide acting network of consultants
to prepare a solid base of economical data for important
production proceeds of the organic agriculture and the
whole farm
 Improvement of the economics of the different farm
branches or of the whole farm through intensive
consultancy
 Development of an integrated system for the analysis of the
whole farm or branches (Agricon farm comparison, full
costs analysis of farm branches through the DLG-method)

Four German wide working groups

1. WG Farm Comparison:
Development, creation and use of horizontal and vertical farm comparison
(3 years) software: Agricon, Partners: 6 consultants, 1. year 50 farms,
later 80 farms
2. WG Organic Poultry Husbandry: Introduction of the full costs analysis
(2 years), Collection of proofed data over the net of the farms software:
excel tool pig, Partners: 10 consultants, 32 laying hens farms, 5 farms with
young hens, 5 farms with chicken, 5 farms with turkeys
3. WG Organic Milk Production: Introduction of the full costs analysis (2
years), Collection of proofed data over the net of the farms software:
excel tool milking cows, Partners: 8 consultants, 45 farms
4. WG Organic Piglet and Fattening Pig Production: Introduction of the
full costs analysis (2 years), Collection of proofed data over the net of the
farms software: excel tool pig, Partners: 12 consultants, 21 piglet

producers, 26 farms with fattening pigs

Financing
- Farmers Fee 100 – 200 € per year and farm or
branch
- Own involvement of the consultants or
organisation with participation in four seminars
without compensation of travel costs or unpaid
work and office use
- 80 % subsidy of the BLE
