• Biomes are regions in the world that share similar plant
structures, plant spacing, animals, climate and weather.
• Biomes are classified as either terrestrial (land) or
aquatic (water).
Tundra
Description:
Very cold, low diversity,
and simple vegetation
Temperature:
-20°F - 50°F
Rainfall:
6in-10in annually
Plants:
arctic moss, arctic willow,
bearberry
Animals:
arctic fox, caribou, polar
bear
Taiga
Description:
The largest terrestrial biome,
soil is nutrient poor and acidic

Balsam fur, black spruce,
eastern red cedar
Animals:
woodpeckers, black bears, and
wolverines
Deciduous Forest
Description:
Temperature varies, soil is rich
