What is Social Accountability?
• “Social Accountability is an approach
initiated by the community for collective
responsibility of all stakeholders in ensuring
those in power accountable for proper
delivery of services to the community.”

• Because Gemidiriya is a community driven project
and community groups are responsible for
planning, resource allocation and decision-making
• Can use successfully to improve efficiency and
quality in service delivery; to empower
community and ensure good governance
