OVERVIEW:
Experienced, organized, diligent, creative, and congenial worker with skills in office administration, project
management, CAD systems, architecture, construction, and design. Familiar with environmental issues as
well as building codes.
OBJECTIVE:
To work and learn in a good architecture firm.
SKILLS:
Administration and project management – operations and engineering management work with computer
design corporations, community non-profits, and small enterprises.
CAD drafting – familiar with AutoCAD, PADS, and Cadnetix. Primary work was PCB and mechanical
design. Familiar with construction blueprints. Familiar with both GIS and GPS.
Architecture – a student of architecture under Lee Porter Butler, doing double envelope passive solar
design and construction. Readings include the works of Christopher Alexander, David Wright,
Hassan Fathy, Ian McHarg, and John Chris Jones.
Design – a student of contemporary design under Mel Strawn. Design work includes art, residential
and workshop structures, mechanical devices, and electronic assemblies. Experienced with
collaborative design teams and design methods.
Construction – many years work as a carpenter and as a shipwright. Commercial and residential
remodeling in San Francisco and Seattle.
Environment - involved in environmental education, citizen action, and EIR reviews. Co-founded a GIS
service agency for rural watershed groups. Supervisor for the initial stream surveys in the Mattole.
