Narration: “The year 2222… After following a crooked trail of abuse, neglect, sadness
and rage, across galaxies and centuries, Heartman and his faithful sidekick and son,
Chip The Black Boy, have finally located the source of all evil. Before them lies the
tortured, lecherous man responsible for the chain reaction begun near the beginning of
time, which caused every wound, every wrong ever done. This is Heartman's true arch
nemesis: Dr. Pain. “

The depraved doctor, in his tattered and blood-stained coat, cowers in a corner of a
blood-spattered hospital, tears gushing (as they always do), grinning maniacally,
pouring a bottle of pills down his throat. He is wielding a rusty scalpel, glaring up at
Heartman and Chip in psychotic desperation.
Heartman: “Salame, Doctor. Have no fear. I'm not gonna hurt you.”
Chip The Black Boy: “We're only here to heal you, Pain.”

As the chakra power of Heartman begins to penetrate Pain's chest a mysterious
telepathic voice slices through time and space like a shard of glass to Heartman and
Chip:
Narration: “Heartman unleashes his magical chakra force. The beam of love begins to
penetrate the mad doctor’s chest, when suddenly…”
"STOP! We are AtomicGOD from the ONE voice!"

Chip: “What in the world…?”
Narration: “Suddenly, the monstrosity morphs before their very eyes.”
The 7 Sisters: “If you share your love with Pain you will make him 10X stronger,
transforming him into ULTRA Pain!“

The 7 Sisters: “He will then devour your entire world with bloodlust and glory! Oh
Heartman, Chip, my beloved brethren, we must teach you of the 4 control dramas to
uncork the heart of Pain.”
Heartman and Chip are thoroughly confused now.
Chip: “I thought glory was good..”
Heartman: “Bretheren?”
The 7 Sisters: “The secret to eradicating Pain is to copy each control drama directly and
then show him a photo of his first kiss! If you do not he will consume you and burst
your heart in its chest as it beats!”
Heartman: “Without a heart, well I’d just be “Man”… I’d also be dead!”

Heartman: Okay, whoever you are, what are the 4 control dramas? Hurrrry!!!
Pain: "RoAAAWWR!"
The 7 Sisters: "Alas! You have already triggered him! ULTRA Pain has arisen! You
must escape!"

Heartman and Chip dash for the edge of the city as ULTRA Pain pursues, fist clenched,
trashing entire buildings in his wake.
Heartman: "What ARE THE DRAMAS?!"
The 7 Sisters: "You'll find them outside of the crystal pyramids deep in the ocean…”

The 7 Sisters: “…below the Bermuda Triangle! Follow the signs!” [The lead Sister is
yelling this through her triangle hands-sign as you can see in the draft drawing.]
Heartman is standing on a newspaper.
Chip: “Look what you’re standing on, Heartman!”
Heartman: “Hmm, we’ll definitely need the sub-train for this job.”
The noise and destruction of ULTRA-Pain approaches from off the panel as Heartman
and Chip look towards it in shock.
Chip: “We should go to the lair.”
Heartman: “There’s our manhole.”
They dive into a manhole.

Back at their underground lair… Heartman and Chip mount the Secret Sub Train and
head east for the Florida Keys. We see the train exiting a tunnel into the ocean. And
then arriving near the Crystal Pyramids.
Chip: “Wow, here we are.”

Interior: the sub-train cockpit; lots of gadgets and buttons all over.
Chip: “Boy, this sure is some gorgeous scenery, Heartman, but it makes me nervous
to be so deep below sea level!”
Heartman: “You can say that again, Chip. I think we may be over our heads.”
Chip: “What are these... beautiful…”
Heartman (in awe): “Mermaids…”
It is revealed that 4 mermaids are circling the submarine.

Chip: “Ooh la la…”
Heartman: “Can you hear me, mysterious voice? We're here! I can see the Crystal
Pyramids! And these lovely ocean ladies…”
The 7 Sisters: “They are the mer-people of Atlantis…

The 7 Sisters: “Focus, Heartman! The Fate of the universe depends on it!”
Heartman: “Alright, Chip. Get your aqua suit on. I’ll meet you outside.”
The sub coasts to a halt. Heartman and Chip step out of the compression chamber in
their underwater suits, air bubbles rising upwards.

The three mermaids dart away.
Chip: “Hey, we were just getting to know you ladies!”
We see 4 separate panels showing close-ups of the 4 obelisks that surround the
pyramid in the crater, each with its own “glyph”
7 Sisters: “Do you see the 4 glyphs within the obelisks before the pyramid? These
glyphs are the keepers that would unlock the room of shards. You must find the
correct stones in the Words of time to activate each glyph.”
Heartman: “What?! How do I find the stones?! What are the Words of time?!”
Narration: “Meanwhile…”
ULTRA Pain has grown to an enormous size. We see him insert a giant “straw” into a
school bus, crush the bus, and slurp up the carnage.

Heartman: “What the heaven are we doing here? Mysterious voice? I don't
understand!”
Chip: “We have to activate the glyphs, remember?”
Heartman: “I know, but how?””
Chip: “I don't know.. maybe…”
Chip approaches one of the 4-small obelisks and presses a stone button on its face.
(The button shows the Egyptian Akhet symbol.)
Chip: “I think I got it!”
The statue sinks into the sand leaving a rectangular hole in the ocean floor.
Heartman: “A hidden door!”
From the hole emerges a swift, screeching Sea Harpy.

Heartman: “It got my leg! Get it off!”
Heartman kicks the Harpy with his free leg, sending her flying. Briefly subdued, she
scowls at Heartman.
Heartman: “Stand down!”
The Harpy jets forward, attacking again, knocking Heartman to the ground. She stands
over him laughing maniacally. Chip rushes in to tackle her.

Heartman: “Step aside Chip! I’m charging my Love Ray!”
A red glowing heart-shaped symbol appears on Heartman’s chest.
Chip: “I’ve got her!”
Heartman unleashes his Love Ray, bursting forth from his chest towards the Harpy (but
Chip is in the way).

Chip lies on the ground, stunned, as the Harpy, again, laughs in triumph.
Chip: “You could have waited until I was out of the way…”
Heartman: “Sorry, Chip. I panicked.”
7 sisters: "Heartman! You can't win with brute force. What does the expression on her
face look like?!"
PAGE 18
Heartman finally manages to pin the Sea Harpy to the ground.
Heartman: “She has a scowl!”
7 sisters: “You must make a mean face!”
Heartman frowns into her face…
PAGE 19
Harpy: “Nooooo!”
…and the Harpy turns to sand.
Chip: “Eww… What WAS that? “
Heartman: “I don’t know but I’m glad it’s gone.”
7 Sisters: “She is the Sea Harpy: the embodiment of all who would rule through
intimidation. She awaits the day when humanity is controlled by brute force.”

7 Sisters: “When that day comes she will control the Earth through insects. You see,
Heartman, the spirit of Pain is of an ancient wise man locked beneath the ocean by the
4 glyphs from the Great Battle of Atlantis and Mu. When Mu attacked Atlantis with
nuclear weapons, just before Atlantis retaliated with asteroids…”
We see the 7 Sisters speaking to Heartman and a couple scenes from her tale: the
bombing of Atlantis, as it stood above sea level before sinking, and the god Atlantis
summoning asteroids in space.

7 Sisters: “…a vortex of dark energy was created below the ocean floor. This cavern
came to house all of the most stubborn ghosts, who either wouldn't or couldn't vanish
from this dimension.”
We see an energy vortex, a twisting, turning cavern, and three menacing ghosts.
PAGE 22
7 Sisters: “These ghosts, compressed into such a tiny space of consciousness for so
long, came to act as siblings and with a solitary mindset.”
We see the same three ghosts fusing together.
Heartman: “Ohhh… kay. I'm not sure what to do with that information. What do you
think, Chip? Chip?”
We see Chip asleep on the ocean floor.
Heartman: “CHIP!!”
Chip awakes, groggy.
Chip: “Sorry, that was impossible to stay awake through.”

Heartman: “Mysterious voice, I don’t have time for history lessons. All I need to know
is how to stop Dr. Pain.”
7 Sisters: “Pain is our lost brother.”
Chip: “What? That's weird…”
Heartman: “Alright, let's just focus on the task at hand.”
Heartman approaches the next obelisk and presses the Hathor glyph. A mysterious
fog appears and Heartman is whisked into an alternate dimension: in the middle of a
vast field of purple grass with a green sky.
Heartman: “What the…?”

A poor little dog boy appears and cowers with his head in his palms.
Heartman: “Whats wrong, little dog boy?”
He continues to sob and the tears turn to blood.
7 Sisters: “You must hold him in your arms and cry with him!”
Heartman: “…What?”

Heartman holds the blood-crying dog boy.
Heartman: “Oh, why won't you stop crying? It's gonna be okay, buddy! Ugh, this is
disgusting!”
Heartman is getting the dog boy’s blood all over himself.
7 Sisters: “CRY WITH HIM!”
Heartman: “Ohhhhh… the humanity!”
Heartman cries (just tears - not blood).
The Dog Boy turns to sand and Heartman finds himself back on the ocean floor.
7 Sisters: “That was the guardian of illusion and violent sorrow.”
Heartman: “This place is creepy! I gotta get out of here!”

Chip: “Great idea, Heartman!”
7 Sisters: “Not yet! There are two more glyphs… Press the Eye of Horus.”
Heartman: “Ugh, what weird thing is gonna happen now? Let's just hurry.”
Narrator: “Meanwhile…”
Dr. Pain has grown to the size of a solar system and is gobbling entire planets like
bonbons.

The next glyph falls and an especially sexy sea nymph approaches in glimmering
jewelry, her arm raised. She dances around in circles with elegance and flair.
7 Sisters: “Don't look at the Sea Nymph, Heartman!”
Heartman: “Too late.” (Eyes bulging, drooling.)
7 Sisters: “This is the ever-aloof guardian of seduction. You must IGNORE her!”
Heartman: “But she's SO beautiful!”
Chip: “Yeah…”

7 Sisters: “Do it!!!”
Heartman: “Fine.”
Heartman reluctantly turns away and she falls to sand.
Heartman: “I am so tired of all this sand!”
7 Sisters: “Now for the final glyph... the Ankh!"

The final glyph is pressed in…
Heartman: “I hope to never see another glyph as long as I live.”
A mermaid kneels before Heartman, mouth open wide, revealing an infinite succession
of herself inside her own mouth.
Mermaid: “Come to me.”

7 Sisters: “You must surrender to eternity.”
Heartman: “You want me to…”
7 Sisters: “Enter the void!”
Heartman: “This is very strange.”
Heartman climbs inside the mermaid's mouth as Chip covers his eyes.
Chip: “I can’t watch!”
Stretching to impossible proportions in order to accommodate Heartman, the mermaid
gradually transforms into a blue whale and he is transported into a maelstrom of swirly
light and color.

Heartman and the voice of the 7 Sisters now float around in some weird alternate
dimension, full of swirling galaxies and such.
Heartman: “Where am I?”
7 Sisters: “You are nowhere.”
Heartman: “Come again?”
7 Sisters: “Do you understand what you've done, Heartman? We have been locked
away by the 4 dramas for thousands of years!”

Heartman and the voice continue to float in a strange, shifting maelstrom of color and
light.
7 Sisters: “But finally, you’ve freed us by engaging the 4 control dramas. You already
knew the secret of Pain but you didn't understand why your heart could not overcome
his burden! Do you understand now!?”
Heartman: “Uhh, I think I get it!”
7 Sisters: “After thousands of years the Chamber of Shards can now be opened…”
Heartman: “Is that…good?”

We are transported back to the pyramid at the ocean floor as it rumbles and a stair case
appears in the sand before the pyramid (leading underneath the pyramid).
Chip: “Heartman! Where were you?”
Heartman: “Some weird dimension. Look! The Chamber of Shards!”
We see some sharks approaching in the distance.

Suddenly Heartman and Chip are shoved into the staircase by a school of sharks and
bars of crystal shards snap shut behind them, trapping them below ground-level.
Dr. Pain appears.
PAGE 35
Dr. Pain: “Hahahaha! You fools! You've freed my 7 evil sisters from the Chamber
and you will replace them! They've been trapped for 9000 years, and now I can finally
rejoin them to do REALLY bad things…”
PAGE 36
Dr Pain: “…like destroy the entire universe! You've made possible the reunion of the
long lost demons of Atlantis and Mu! You have unleashed the most furious, ferocious,
horrible abomination upon all life on all worlds, and there’s nothing you can do about it
because now you're locked up here, you dumb-dumbs!”
Heartman’s and Chip’s expressions are pained, palms to their foreheads.
Heartman: “Oh brother!”

Dr. Pain: “Bye-bye, losers!”
Chip: “What now, Heartman?”
Heartman: “I don’t know Chip. Maybe we can call upon the wisdom of whoever’s
reading this comic book to guide us.”
Chip: “Whaaaat?”
Narrator: “Yes, that’s right, dear reader. Now is the time. Heartman calls upon YOU
for guidance. What should he do next? Your decision decides his fate! He can
either
A. just give up and wait for the end of the universe (turn to page 38)
or B. totally freak out (turn to page 39).

Heartman and Chip stare silently at the wall. (panel 1)
A tear falls from Heartman’s eye. (panel 2)
Chip sighs. (panel 3)
Heartman: “Goodbye, world.” (panel 4)
The universe explodes. (panel 5)

Heartman starts screaming and bashing his head into the walls. (panel 1)
Heartman: “Aaaaaaaaahhhhh!!!!!” (panel 2)
(Heartman’s voice bubbles are electrified on these pages.)
Chip, alarmed: “You’re totally freaking out, Heartman!” (panel 3)
Heartman grabs Chip by the shoulders and screams in his face. (panel 4)
He then bellows towards the ceiling: “Aaaaaaargh!” (There are musical notes, in
addition to the word, inside Heartman’s voice bubble now, which is even more
electrified.) (panel 5)

Narrator: “Heartman’s shrill screams, charged with his super strength, harmonize with
the crystal prison walls which begin to shatter. (panel 1)
Narrator: “His crazy, magical bellows emanate out of the sea, into space, and across
the universe…” [I’m imagining an image of Earth in space with Heartman’s scream-ray
coming out of the planet and off the panel into space.] (panel 2)
Narrator: “…where they reach Pain and his deceitful siblings… (panel 3)
Narrator: “…exploding them!” (panel 4)
Narrator: “Hooray! The universe is saved and nothing bad happens ever again! (panel
5)
Heartman & Chip: “Hooray!” / Narrator: “The End” (panel 6)
