Cancer Services at
University Hospital
• Approximately 22,000 patient encounters were
recorded for FY2009
• 2007 – 1132 newly diagnosed patients
– Younger and more advanced stage of disease
• 40% AJCC stage III/IV compared to 27%
nationwide
• Unusually high number of sarcoma, cervical,
hepatic and head/neck carcinomas
