1. Locate your organisations’ policies and procedures on waste management. Write a
brief paragraph on what you think the purpose of having waste management policies
and procedures are.
2. List five hazardous or infectious waste materials that are common in the area you
work in. In each instance:
 identify what kind of waste it is classified as, and
 outline the standard handling and disposal procedures.
3. Write a brief paragraph on the importance of recycling in the health industry.
