Chapman and Chapman Teams Up with Hopewell’s Summer Solstice
CLEVELAND– June XX, 2014 – On Friday, June 20, a celebration of both summer and Hopewell will take place with
Hopewell’s Summer Solstice at 6 p.m. at 39100 Shaker Blvd in Hunting Valley. The Summer Solstice will be an evening of
cocktails, silent and live auctions and dinner under the stars. Proceeds from the Summer Solstice help residents with limited
financial resources afford services at Hopewell.
Hopewell is a therapeutic community located on a 300-acre farm in rural Mesopotamia, Ohio, that helps adults with
schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, bipolar disorder, major depression and other forms of serious mental illness believe in
their own potential develop the skills to manage their mental illness transition from Hopewell to a more independent living
situation.
Founded by Cleveland-native Clara Rankin, and a dedicated board, Hopewell accepted its first resident in 1996. Hopewell is
one of a handful of therapeutic farm communities in the country and the only one of its kind in Ohio. They serve 40 adults,
with housing in four residences. At any given time, Hopewell employs between 30-40 full time and part time clinical, direct
care and administrative staff.
