Diagonal
Definition: A diagonal of a polygon is a line
segment that connects two non-consecutive
vertices.
Convex vs. Concave
A polygon is convex if no diagonal is outside
the polygon. A polygon is concave if at least
one diagonal is outside the polygon.

Congruent Polygons
• If polygons are congruent, then the
corresponding sides and angles are congruent.
• If the corresponding sides and angles are
congruent, then the polygons are congruent.
Your task…
• Create quality definitions for the three
terms on page 56. Add them to your
yellow definition pages.
• When finished you may begin on today’s
assignment: 1.4 #1-18, 20-24, 27
Equilateral Polygons
Polygons in which all sides have equal length.
Equiangular Polygons
Polygons in which all angles have equal
measure.
Regular Polygons
Polygons that are both equilateral and
equiangular.
