WOMEN’S COLLEGE HOSPITAL Fully Associated with the University of Toronto Competition Number: KC113.07 Position: Research Coordinator Department: Women’s College Research Institute Classification: Full-Time Salary: TBD Launched in the Spring of 2006, the Women and HIV Research Program fills a much needed role in providing relevant research to women living with HIV. This program centers on a number of publicly funded trials. The candidate should be versatile in their ability to manage qualitative and quantitative trials, and understand the complexities facing women living with HIV in Ontario. This position requires individuals to work independently and effectively to produce high quality writing, research, documents, communication and overall coordination. Research Duties Coordinate Community Advisory Board (CAB) and Project Advisory Board (PAC) meetings Act as a multi-site coordinator of trials by ensuring national locations meet targets Recruit participants according to protocol stratification for survey completion Coordinate interviews and focus groups Coordinate community and academic linkage Develop and maintain interagency links Contribute to instrument design Report and journal article writing Manage priorities and meet study deadlines Maintain and balance budget Ensure data quality and ethical management Contribute to knowledge dissemination Prepare grant submissions Skills and Qualifications A post-secondary degree or equivalent certificate required High level interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision and as a member of a small team Knowledge and experience in the use of computer software applications, including Microsoft Office programs, data collection and analysis software Demonstrated project management skills, including possession of conceptual, analytical and problem solving skills A firm understanding of research design and research ethics An understanding of the social, cultural, political and economic complexities embedded within HIV/AIDS and women’s health Possession of interests in Canadian Health Care and Women’s Health Knowledge of granting agencies Preference for research experienced candidate Preference for HIV experience Contact: Victoria Govan Women’s College Research Institute 790 Bay Street, Suite 743 Toronto ON, M5G 1N8 [email protected] 416-946-3749 Application deadline is August 5th, 2007.
