Secretary’s Report:
None.
Public Safety/Code Enforcement Report:

There is still talk that we will be moved back to Zone 3.
- A CV resident reported a shooting at Sylvan Road and Sylvan Circle.
- Major Perdue (not present) has indicated that we should repeatedly call 911 to report
prostitution in neighborhood.
- Jacque Crenshaw has information on Block Captain training (for Neighborhood Watch)
provided by the APD. Neighborhood watch signs are available with the training. Contact Ms.
Crenshaw (phone: 404-753-7041) for more details.
- There is also a neighborhood deputy training program which allows citizens to write violations.
Tonya Mitchell with the city approves the applications and training is approximately every 3
weeks, the next one is 10/27.
Beautification Report:
- Jacque Crenshaw reported that the recent neighborhood cleanup went well and thanked all
that participated. She has requested input for when the next clean-up should occur or if they
should be on a regular schedule.
New Business/Other:
- Jacque Crenshaw suggested that CVNA have a potluck holiday party.
- Lisa Yeiser volunteered for hospitality duties.
- John Ritger and others of the National Disc Golf Assoc. reported that they are searching for a
park within the city limits to install a disc golf course. The course has low impact on parks.
They think Perkerson Park is well suited for their needs. Neighbors raised issues about
jogging and dog walking. Mr. Ritger’s associates indicated that park visitors have the right of
way. They understand that CVNA or city of Atlanta does not have funds to support the course
and would raise the funds on their own. Course is a potential source of revenue for
neighborhood. CVNA will have to vote on the request in the future if they decide on Perkerson
Park.
- LaTonya Crawford announced that Capitol View United Methodist Church will be celebrating
“Hallelujah Night” on 10/31 from 6:30 to 8:30 pm. Will be food and fun. Donations can be
made at 661 Dill Ave., 10 am to 2 pm daily.

on 10/27 from 12 to 3pm at 840 Beechwood. Free food and fun. Halle Homes has
approximately 10 homes in the neighborhood and want 50 by the next year. Ms. Poole-Lane
