Little Bruce Secor Succumbs Bruce Erick Secor, son of Mr. and Mrs. Norris Secor, was born July 5, 1937, and departed this life January 13, 1942 at 1:30 pm at the age of 4 years, 6 months and 8 days. About two weeks ago he was afflicted with infantile paralysis from which he seemed to be recovering and it is thought that pneumonia developed which helped to cause his death. He leaves to mourn, besides his parents, 6 brothers and sisters, Delores Ellen, 13; Royal Edwin, 10; Cloyce Emmet, 8; Marlene Etta, 7; Larry Eugene, 6; and Janet Elaine, 2. Also the maternal grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Martin, of Elkhart, and the paternal stepgrandmother, Mrs. Rhoda Secor, of this place, survive. The family wishes to express to all their family and neighbors their heartfelt thanks and appreciation for all donations and concern, and prayers in their behalf during this time of sickness and death. We take comfort in the knowledge that Bruce has gone on to the home of the pure and those redeemed through Jesus’ blood. As the family is in quarantine the body was taken from the Lienhart Funeral parlors to the entrance of the home Wednesday at 11 o’clock for the family to view and have a prayer. A short service was held at the Yellow Creek cemetery, where interment was made. Wakarusa Tribune January 15, 1942
