Quick and Easy Dips
Ranch Dip
½ C non-fat buttermilk
1/3 C low-fat mayonnaise
2 tsp dried dill
1 T lemon juice
1 tsp Dijon mustard
1 tsp honey
½ tsp garlic powder
1/8 tsp salt
2 ½ Tblsp dip and 1 cup veggies = 61 calories, 1 g fat, 11g carbohydrate, 3g protein, 2g fiber
Hummus
Garbanzos 1 can
Garlic – 1-2 cloves
2 tblsp lemon juice
1/3 C bean liquid or water
1 tsp horseradish (optional) or cumin 1/4 tsp, pinch of cayenne
Can also add minced red onion, minced parsley
Olive oil or 1 Tblsp tahini – optional
¼ C serving = 68 calories, 1 g fat, 11 g carbohydrate, 3.6 g protein
Black Bean Dip
Puree 1 can black beans with
½ cup salsa
½ tsp cumin
Shake of true lime
Chopped cilantro (1-2 Tblsp)
Bean-y Guacamole
Puree 1 can white beans with
A handful of spinach
½ cup salsa
Mash 1 avocado
Mix all of above with true lime & some chopped cilantro
