The Sky
*The sun is a star that provides heat or energy, which warms the land, air,
and water on Earth.
* The sun’s position in the morning is east, at noon-overhead, and in the late
afternoon-west. The sun does not move.
* The planet we live on is Earth. The closer a planet is to the sun, the
hotter it is. The farther a planet is from the sun, the colder it is.
*The rotation of Earth means that Earth turns once each day.
*The part of Earth facing the sun has daytime and the part not facing
the sun has nighttime. Day and night are caused by the earth rotating.
* The best tool for looking at something that is far away is called a
telescope.
* The Moon goes around the Earth.
