Pennsylvania Certified Organic 106 School Street, Suite 201 Spring Mills, PA 16875 (814) 422-0251 • fax (814) 422-0255 CERTIFICATION FEE REIMBURSEMENT INFO [email protected] www.paorganic.org Due to regulatory changes regarding the Farm Bill certification fee reimbursement (cost share) was eliminated from mandatory funding, except for organic farmers in the 16 Agricultural Management Assistance (AMA) states, which include Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, West Virginia, Hawaii, Nevada, Utah and Wyoming. At this time, only farms (not processing or handling operations) in the above listed states will be eligible for certification fee reimbursement for the October 1, 2013 – September 30, 2014 cycle. If you have further questions please contact the PCO office. In general, certified organic operations may be reimbursed for 75% of their organic certification costs, up to $750 per year, for each scope of certification. For example, dairy producers may apply for crops and livestock, a maximum of $1,500. If your operation is in Pennsylvania, you should receive an application from the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture. If you do not receive an application or have questions about how to contact program administrators in other states please see the list below for more information. PCO will automatically submit your proof of payment information as well as a copy of your certification directly to the PDA so you will not need to attach it to the application. Only fees paid between October 1 and September 30, may be reimbursed. Producers who have not yet had their annual inspection, or have not received an inspection bill, may contact PCO for an estimate so your fees can be paid before the closing date.
