French I Ms. Jones Lesson Plans – Les Couleurs Standards: Standard 1.1: Students engage in conversations, provide and obtain information, express feelings and emotions, and exchange opinions Objectives: SWBAT identify and indicate the following colors: red, yellow, blue, green, grey, white, black, brown, orange, and pink. Topic(s) Performance Skills Les Couleurs Indicate and Identify various colors Language Structure Content Adjective gender and number agreement - Invariable* De Quelle couleur est… Vocabulary Les Couleurs - blanc/blanche, noir/e, bleu/e, rouge, jaune, vert/e, gris/e, marron*, orange*, rose Beginning of Lesson: Review colors by asking students as a class “De quelle couleur est…” different objects in the room. Explain color games for the day. Twister – [One Group at a Time] Remove shoes. Two people play at a time. One person spins the wheel and announces where to put the hand or foot in FRENCH! (i.e. Pied à droite sur rouge. Main à gauche sur jaune.) Color Board Game – Play similar to Candy Land. (See Directions with game) Color by Numbers – Color the picture according to the numbers. Then create your own color by numbers picture. Heart of Lesson: Students break into groups of 3. Each group draws a number for the order in which they will play Twister (because only one group can play at a time). Then the other groups go to one of the other two stations. Each group will get 8 minutes to play Twister before there is a switch. End of Lesson: Students will complete Colors Exit Quiz
