SUBMITTALS
A.
Product Data: Submit manufacturer’s catalog data and installation instructions for
each type of item specified.

Recycled Content:
(a)
Indicate recycled content; indicate percentage of pre-consumer and
post-consumer recycled content per unit of product.
(b)
Indicate relative dollar value of recycled content product to total
dollar value of product included in project.
(c)
If recycled content product is part of an assembly, indicate the
percentage of recycled content product in the assembly by weight.
(d)
If recycled content product is part of an assembly, indicate relative
dollar value of recycled content product to total dollar value of
assembly.
B.
Shop Drawings: Submit showing layout, details, dimensions and assembly and
anchorage. For flammable liquid storage cabinets, show ventilation connections.

QUALITY ASSURANCE
A.
Provide certification that flammable liquid storage cabinets comply with OSHA 29
CFR 1910.106D and NFPA 30 requirements.

MANUFACTURERS
A.

Subject to compliance with requirements, provide products of one of the following:

Equipto Steel Products.
2.
Hallowell, division of List Industries.
3.
Justrite, for flammable liquid storage.
4.
Penco Products, Inc.
5.
Tri-Boro Shelving.
MATERIALS
A.
All metal storage and cabinet products are to contain recycled content.
B.
Design and Construction: 18 gage clip-type adjustable shelving of modular unit
construction of individual bolted frame assemblies, constructed in such a way that
any section can be relocated and each shelf can be independently adjusted without
the use of tools.
C.
Shelving Unit Sizes: Provide shelving in sizes as indicated on the Drawings.
1.
Unit Sizes:
(a)
Type 1: 87 inches high x 12 inches deep, with top and six adjustable
shelves, closed base fronts.
(b)
Type 2: 87 inches high x 18 inches deep, with top and six adjustable
shelves, closed base fronts.
(c)
Type 3: 87 inches high x 24 inches deep, with top and six adjustable
shelves, closed base fronts.
(d)
Above-noted Shelving: Extend from wall to wall in rooms indicated
on the Drawings to receive metal storage shelving. Provide standard
width units of 30 inches, 36 inches and 42 inches.

Provide metal shelving in Rooms as noted on the plans.
D.
Wall Attachment Hardware: Provide manufacturer’s recommended brackets and
mounting screws for wall attachment.
2.3
WORKBENCH
A.
Provide freestanding unit of heavy-duty welded steel construction as manufactured
by Equipto Storage Products.
1.
Substitutions:
(a)
Will be considered by the Project Consultant and Owner when
submitted per requirements of Division-0, Division-1, and Section
01630-Product Substitution Procedures.
B.
Size: 34 inch x 72 inch x 37 inch high.
C.
Top: Steel.
D.
Provide unit with manufacturer’s standard half shelf underneath top.
E.
Prove steel stringer for rigidity.
F.
Finish: Manufacturer’s standard color finish; color as selected by the Project
Consultant.

STORAGE CABINET
A.
Provide cabinet as manufactured by Equipto Storage Products.
1.
Substitutions:
(a)
Will be considered by the Project Consultant and Owner when
submitted per requirements of Division-0, Division-1, and Section
01630-Product Substitution Procedures.
B.
Twenty two gage steel storage cabinet measuring 48 inch wide x 24 inch deep by 7’0” high, with built-in lever lock (3-point locking) and 4 adjustable shelves for
installation.
C.
Doors rotate on top and bottom pin hinges, swinging a full 180 degrees.
D.
Fully enclosed, 16 gage independent, welded steel frame.
E.
Approximate Weight: 225 pounds.
F.
Finish: Manufacturer’s standard color finish; color as selected by the Project
Consultant.

FLAMMABLE LIQUID STORAGE CABINET
A.
Provide cabinets as manufactured by Justrite.
1.
Substitutions:
(a)
Will be considered by the Project Consultant and Owner when
submitted per requirements of Division-0, Division-1, and Section
01630-Product Substitution Procedures.
B.
Provide cabinets with the following salient features:
1.
Welded steel construction.
2.
Dual 2-inch vents.
3.
2-inch deep leak proof sill in base of cabinet.
4.
Three-point locking, and concealed, self-closing mechanism.
5.
Fusible Link.
6.
Adjustable galvanized steel shelves with 1/2 inch lip at edges.
7.
Double-wall thermal barrier construction.
8.
Adjustable leveling feet.
PART 3 EXECUTION
3.1
EXAMINATION
A.
3.2
Do not proceed with the work of this Section until conditions detrimental to the proper
and timely completion of the work have been corrected in an acceptable manor.
INSTALLATION
A.
Set adjustable shelving units accurately in place in locations as indicated on the
Drawings.
B.
Touch-up marred surfaces. Replace units damaged beyond cosmetic correction as
directed by the Project Consultant.

C.
Install intermediate shelves at equal spacing in each unit.
D.
Anchor shelving to wall surfaces with anchoring devices as recommended by the
manufacturer.
E.
Install cabinets in accordance with manufacturer’s printed instructions.
3.3
CLEANING
A.
Clean shelving and cabinets with a damp cloth, leaving them in clean condition, free
from dirt, smears, fingerprints and other foreign matter.
