Weight Training Review
3 sets of 10 reps is when one lifts a 15 pound weight 10 times in a row 3 separate times.
Muscle weights more than fat.
Heavier weight with low repetions builds more muscle mass. Light weight with a high
number of repetions creates more definition.
DOMS stands for, Delayed Onset Muscle Sense , referring to the pain you feel the day
after you lift.
Each body part, except for the abs, needs a minimum of 48 hours (1 day between lifting)
to rest.
Weight training is an activity or exercise that mostly everyone can benefit from, socially
and physically as a teenager until and through old age.
Weight training is a great way to:
Help prevent cardiovascular disease the number one killer in the U.S.
Strengthen bones and prevent injury
Speed up one’s metabolism
Relieve stress
All of the above
Osteoporosis is weakening of the bones.
Weight training is an anaerobic exercise, while running is an aerobic exercise.
