Format for lab write up: Cell Growth and Division Lab (Part 1 & 2) Name/block Title of Lab Introduction (discuss the topic and purpose of this lab in a paragraph, 8 – 10 sentences) Materials (bullet form, can put both labs into one) Methods/Procedure (bullet/numbered, can be paraphrased but needs to make sense, can combine labs) Results (This is your data and may include; table, pictures/illustrations with labels, etc) Discussion/Conclusion (Restatement of topic/objective, analysis of results, what was learned, this is in a paragraph form, 8 – 10 sentences) Discussion should include the questions from the lab sheet; 1. Discuss the differences you observed in the nuclei of the cells during cell division. 2. Compare mitosis in plant cells to that of animal cells. 3. Discuss how you were able to distinguish between early and late anaphase, color and location of chromatids. 4. According to your data table in part 2, identify which phase of mitosis lasts the longest. Explain why this phase might require more time than other phases of mitosis. 5. According to your data table in part 2, identify which phase takes the least amount of time? 6. Explain how your results and predictions compare with those of the entire class. 7.
