Salary: Circa £25,000, BUPA Healthcare, Pension
Hours: 4 crew shift pattern, working 12 hour shifts (7am – 7pm or 7pm to 7am working 4
days/ nights on then 4 days off)
Location: Leeds, LS14

Unilever is a global Fast-Moving Consumer Goods company in the UK and Ireland. It is the
company behind powerhouse brands such as Flora, Dove, Persil and PG Tips.
We are looking for talented, passionate, highly-motivated Cell Craft Shift Engineers who are
either single skilled or dual skilled (Electrical/ Mechanical Engineers) for the Aerosol lines
across the sourcing unit. Reporting to the Packing Cell Leader, the Shift Craft will take full
responsibility for ensuring maximum availability of the production plan for the Line and Cell.
The key deliverable of the role is to drive forward the maintenance/technical standards for the
packing Cell.
Key Responsibilities:
 Keep plant running efficiently and safely to maximum capacity
 Repair and capture appropriate details of breakdowns
 Supply technical solutions to any quality incidents
 Ensure serviceable items are always available and support of maintenance where
appropriate
 Actively participate in the preventative maintenance planning for the area, ensuring that
all work is risk assessed, appropriate resource is available and utilised and the tasks can
occur without conflicting requirements.
 Effective communication within the Line, Cell and across the SU
 Setup equipment to manufacture products in accordance with quality procedures and
standards to achieve the product quality targets at minimal waste levels (inc changeovers).
 Take part in regular inspections/audits for good housekeeping/5S and machine safety
and ensure agreed action are completed
 Mentor, develop and carry out skill transfer for cell teams
 Be proactive on the cell/team meetings and bring relevant issues for discussion and
provide suggestions for improvement

Requirements/person specification:
Essential:
Qualifications:
 Minimum HNC or HND Level 5 or NVQ Level 3 BTEC engineering or equivalent
 National School leaver qualifications in
 Reading and Comprehension
 Writing
 Mathematics
Required to support report writing, data analysis, problem solving, mechanical calculations,
leadership and coaching skills.






Proven experience in a similar role
Single skilled or dual skilled engineering experience (mechanical/ electrical)
Experience and proven track-record in supporting a maintenance programme
Understanding of 5S, lean manufacturing and continuous improvement
Accountability & Responsibility
Consumer and Customer Focus
Desirable:
 Packing Line experience
 Experience in using loss analysis to drive continuous improvement
 Experience in understanding machinery packing interfaces
 Experience in World Class Manufacturing and/or TPM

