Section 1: Human Body Orientation

Section 2: Chemistry and Cells
1. Define elements, atoms, ions, molecule, and compounds.
2. Explain the different chemical bonds and how they form.
3. Define pH and explain how your body maintains pH homeostasis.
4. What is the job of DNA, mRNA, tRNA, mRNA, and ATP?
5. What is the difference between organic and inorganic compounds?
6. List the organic compounds and their function.
7. What are the major organelles of the cell and their function?

Section 3: Cells and Tissues

location.
3. What are the characteristics of connective tissue?
4. Name each type of connective tissue, what classifies them, and their

Section 4: Skin and Body Membrane
1. What are the major body membranes and where are they found?
2. What are the layers of the skin and what do they do?
3. Name and describe the appendages of the skin (ex. Hair)
4. Describe the major infections and allergies and illness of the skin? Be
sure the mention cancer.
5. What are the levels of burns? What is the symptoms and prognosis of

5. Describe the difference between aerobic and resistance exercises.

8. Know the major muscles. Name the major diseases of the muscular

Section 7: Nervous System
1. What are the major classifications of the nervous system?
2. What are the major types of nervous tissue, be sure the mention all cell
types and their function
3. What are the types of sensory receptors? What do they do?
4. Explain how a nerve impulse travels. Start with Ca+, be sure to have
K+, and Na+ in your description as well.
