Famous Scientist Project
Here is everything you need to know to get started!
1. Choose from the list of scientists on the back of this page. You need to have 3
choices ready in case your first choice is taken during sign-ups tomorrow.
(Write down your name and color group, the name of the three scientists you
like in order of preference, and one fact about each.)
2. For the famous scientist you are assigned, research about his/her life in the library
or online. You will be reporting on the following key areas:
Key Areas of Research:
Life Span
Place of Birth
Field of Science he/she studied/studies
Important Scientific Exploration
Influence on Today’s Society
Interesting Personal Facts
3. Your report should not exceed ONE page and should follow the format that is given
on the next page. Part of your grade will reflect how well you follow directions.
4. You will also create a title page with the title of your report (the scientist’s name), a
picture of your scientist, and your name and color group. Make sure to follow the
format that is given on the next page.
5. Look at Mrs. Edgar’s example to see if you are following the format correctly.
6. You will be presenting this in class, and you will “be” the scientist, dressed as
he/she dressed/es, and telling “your” story to the class.
DUE DATE/PRESENTATION DATE: MONDAY, OCTOBER 3, 2011
