The three classes of levers
There are three classes of levers depending on the location of the
fulcrum, the
effort force and
load or resistance force.
First-class levers
Effort
Force
Load
A First-Class Lever is a lever in which the fulcrum is located in between the Effort Force and the
Resistance Force or Load.

A mnemonic for remembering the three classes of levers is the word
where the letters
fle-x,
f-l-e represent the fulcrum, the load, and the effort as being
between the other two, in the first-class lever,
the second-class lever,
F
L
and the third-class lever. E
In our models, the fulcrum was the orange triangle,
the effort force is the green arrow and
the load or resistance force is the gray box.
