ROMAN MYTHOLOGY
Description: After saving Olympus from the evil Titan lord,
Kronos, Percy and friends have rebuilt their beloved Camp
Half-Blood, where the next generation of demigods must
now prepare for a chilling prophecy of their own:
Seven half-bloods shall answer the call,
To storm or fire the world must fall.
An oath to keep with a final breath,
And foes bear arms to the Doors of Death.
Now, in a brand-new series from blockbuster best-selling
author Rick Riordan, fans return to the world of Camp
Half-Blood. Here, a new group of heroes will inherit a
quest. But to survive the journey, they’ll need the help of
some familiar demigods.

GREEK MYTHOLOGY
Description: Phoebe Castro is a distance runner who plans
on winning a full-ride cross-country scholarship to USC with
her two best friends. Then her mother returns from a family
reunion abroad with a Greek fiancé who runs a private
school and announces that she and Phoebe will be moving
to an island in the Aegean. The news gets worse as the teen
arrives to find out that there is no scheduled ferry service
from the island. To top off everything, she learns that every
other student is descended from one or more Greek gods.
Her new stepfather tells her that she cannot share this fact
with anyone, for the safety of everyone on Serfopoula.
Things seem to be looking up when she meets an absolutely
gorgeous guy while running on the beach and, despite her
lack of divine ancestry, she is granted a provisional place on
the cross-country team. The IMs fly back and forth between
Greece and southern California, magical hijinks abound, and
classes and practice keep the protagonist busy.
Dread Locks by Neal Shusterman (164 pages)

GREEK MYTHOLOGY
Description: Dread Locks is the first entry in the Dark Fusion series from master
storyteller Neal Shusterman. He cleverly weaves together familiar parts of
fairy tales and Greek mythology to tell the story of
fourteen-year-old Parker Bear, rich and utterly
bored with life—until a new girl arrives in town.
Tara’s eyes are always hidden behind designer
sunglasses, and her hair, blond with glimmering
spirals, seems almost alive. Parker watches,
fascinated, as one by one Tara chooses high school
students to befriend; he even helps her by making
the necessary introductions. Over time, her "friends"
develop strange quirks, such as drinking gallons of
milk, eating dirt, and becoming lethargic. By the
time Parker realizes what Tara is doing, he is too
embroiled to stop her. In fact, she has endowed him
with certain cravings of his own. . . .To say more
would spoil the spooky fun of this wild thriller—let
the twist speak for itself and leave you still as a
statue.

GREEK MYTHOLOGY
Description: Greek gods and mortals spring to life in this
riveting retelling of the myth of Atalanta, the fleet-footed
girl warrior who could outrun any man in ancient Greece.
Cast off and abandoned at birth, Atalanta– saved by a
she-bear and raised by hunters–proves herself to be a
superior archer and the fastest runner in the land. But her
skills and independence anger many, including her father,
the Arcadian King, who suddenly reclaims her and
demands that she produce an heir to the throne. Atalanta
has pledged herself to Artemis, goddess of the hunt, who
has forbidden her to marry. Unwilling to break her
promise, Atalanta suggests a grim compromise: she will
marry the first man to beat her in a race, but everyone she
defeats must die. All the while, Artemis, Apollo, Aphrodite,
Eros, and Zeus himself watch–and interfere–from on high.

NORSE MYTHOLOGY
Description: Jack was eleven when the berserkers
loomed out of the fog and nabbed him. "It seems
that things are stirring across the water," the Bard
had warned. "Ships are being built, swords are
being forged."
"Is that bad?" Jack had asked, for his Saxon village
had never before seen berserkers.
"Of course. People don't make ships and swords
unless they intend to use them."
The year is A.D. 793. In the next months, Jack and
his little sister, Lucy, are enslaved by Olaf OneBrow and his fierce young shipmate, Thorgil. With a
crow named Bold Heart for mysterious company,
they are swept up into an adventure-quest in the
spirit of The Lord of the Rings.

 EGYPTIAN MYTHOLOGY
 Description: Since their mother’s death, Carter and Sadie
have become near strangers. While Sadie has lived with
her grandparents in London, her brother has traveled the
world with their father, the brilliant Egyptologist, Dr. Julius
Kane.
One night, Dr. Kane brings the siblings together for a
“research experiment” at the British Museum, where he
hopes to set things right for his family. Instead,
he unleashes the Egyptian god Set, who banishes him to
oblivion and forces the children to flee for their lives.
Soon, Sadie and Carter discover that the gods of Egypt are
waking, and the worst of them--Set–has his sights on the
Kanes. To stop him, the siblings embark on a dangerous
journey across the globe -- a quest that brings them ever
closer to the truth about their family, and their links to a
secret order that has existed since the time of the
pharaohs.

GREEK MYTHOLOGY
Description: Polly, Era, and Thalia are stuck on earth, and to
get back to Olympus, they've got to prove they've learned
their lesson. And they've got to get through high school in the
meantime. Which would be hard enough without the horribly

home again....
