Ionic Compounds Naming and Writing Chemical Formula Lab Objectives: 1. Write binary and ternary chemical names and formulas of ionic compounds 2. Compare the color of compounds as related to the represented elements vs transition elements. 3. Identify the anions and number of anions of each compound. 4. Count total number of atoms of each compound. Procedure: 1. Choose 30 binary and polyatomic compounds 2. Label half of them with the chemical names and the other half chemical formulas on the bottles. 3. Alternate between Chemical Name and Chemical formula for every other number. 4. Choose 8 compounds from group 1 elements, 4 from group 2 elements, 12 from transition metals, 4 from group 3 or 4 elements, 2 ammonium compounds. 5.
