DuPont Building Innovations Announces Nationwide Launch of DuPont™ Tyvek® Fluid Applied
Air and Water Weather Barrier System for Commercial Buildings
New Technology Provides DuPont™ Tyvek® Performance in Liquid Solution Offering Easy Application, the Ideal
Combination of Air and Water Hold-out and Elasticity that Moves with Buildings
WILMINGTON, Del., Feb.22, 2012 – DuPont Building Innovations announces the nationwide
launch of the DuPont™ Tyvek® Fluid Applied Air and Water Weather Barrier System, the latest innovation in the
trusted portfolio of DuPont™ weatherization products. DuPont has leveraged its industry-leading building science
expertise to bring to the commercial construction market this new integrated system, which offers similar air and
water protection of DuPont™ Tyvek® CommercialWrap®, but in a fluid-applied form. The system provides more
coverage and the ideal combination of air and water hold-out compared to other fluid applied products and is ideal
for application on concrete, CMU (concrete masonry unit), gypsum sheathing and complex high-rise buildings.

determine the best solution for a construction project.”
The complete DuPont™ Tyvek® Fluid Applied Air and Water Weather Barrier system is comprised
of Tyvek® Fluid Applied Weather Barrier (WB), Tyvek® Fluid Applied Flashing and Joint Compound, DuPont™
Sealant for Tyvek® Fluid Applied System and Tyvek® Fluid Applied Flashing – Brush Formulation. The system is
efficient, high-performing and durable, while offering features not available from other fluid applied products.
Applied in one coat by spraying or power rolling, DuPont™ Tyvek® Fluid Applied WB saves valuable time in the
installation process by yielding two-to-three times as much coverage per gallon as competing products. Additionally,
combining low shrinkage with high elongation and elastic recovery allows DuPont™ Tyvek® Fluid Applied
products to stretch and move with the building, resulting in minimal cracking. Providing the ideal combination of air
and water holdout, this new fluid-applied product boasts industry-leading vapor permeability of 25 perms.

The DuPont™ Tyvek® Fluid Applied system can play an important role in increasing the overall
sustainability of commercial buildings by helping to control air leakage, which allows for more energy-efficient
structures by reducing the amount of energy required for heating and cooling. The system also helps to improve
indoor air quality by providing protection from water accumulation in the wall system, which can lead to the growth
of mold and mildew, as well as wood rot and metal corrosion. Additionally, the DuPont™ Tyvek® Fluid Applied
system features low VOC products.
The enhanced durability of the DuPont™ Tyvek® Fluid Applied System means it will perform well,
even in extreme weather conditions. Also, the DuPont™ Tyvek® Fluid Applied System can withstand nine months
of UV exposure, can be applied to damp concrete and can be applied at temperatures as low as 25 degrees
Fahrenheit, providing builders and contractors with more flexibility in their construction schedules. DuPont backs
the DuPont™ Tyvek® Fluid Applied System with a 10-year product limited warranty. The DuPont™ Tyvek®
Specialist Network, a national group of highly trained field representatives, is available to assist with installation
needs and the DuPont™ Tyvek® Certified Installer Network is trained to provide expert installation.
