Marshmallow Monsters
Marshmallow Monsters are pets that require minimal care (and can be very tasty). These
rare creatures are made out of marshmallows, gumdrops and gummies. By very careful
chromosome analysis, our marshmallow genetists found that Marshmallow Monsters have six
pairs of chromosomes.

Procedure:
1. Choose one person in your group to be the “Mommy” coin flipper and one to be
the “Daddy” coin flipper.
2. For each chromosome flip your coin. The dominant allele is passed on in meiosis if
the coin lands heads up. The recessive allele is passed on if the coin lands tails up.
Record your results in the data table.
3. Determine the phenotypes for all six traits and record in the data table.
4. Build your baby Marshmallow Monster.
Before you eat your creature, I must check your work!!!!!
