Complete Factoring
Factoring notes:
1) Factor out the Greatest Common Factor (GCF). If leading coefficient is a negative, factor out the negative
2) If there are 4 or more terms, you may have to factor by grouping.
3) If the remaining polynomial is a quadratic trinomial or quadratic in form, try to factor into two binomials.
4) If the remaining polynomial is a quadratic binomial, see if it is a difference of squares
5) Check to see if any of the binomials are again factorable.
Completely factor each of the following.
1) 3 x 2  12 x
2) x 2  8 x  16
3)
6 x 2  150
4)
4 x 2  12 x  9
5)
x 2  3x  27
6)
5x2  6 x  8
7)
2 x2  9 x  9
8)
3x 2  15 x  12
9)
6 x 2  10 x  4
10) 6 x 2  33 x  15
13)
2 x 4  16 x 2  32
11) 8 x 2  28 x  16
14)
x3  9 x  x 2  9
12) x 4  37 x 2  36
15)
x3  2 x 2  9 x  18
