1. What is the general function of the cardiovascular system? What are its general
components?
2. Name the chambers of the heart. Which ones receive blood? Which ones pump
blood out? What separates the chambers?
3. Describe the coverings of the heart.
4. Describe the structure of the heart wall.
5. Name the great vessels of the heart. What are their locations? Where are they
bringing their blood from? Where are they taking their blood?
6. Describe the coronary circulation.
7. What are names and locations of the valves of the heart? What are their
functions?
8. Describe the cardiac cycle. Include which valves are open or closed when each
chamber is contracted.
9. Describe the conduction system of the heart. Follow the path of depolarization
through the heart naming in order the structures involved.
10. What is bradycardia? tachycardia? fibrillation? myocardial infarction?
