Fire Fighter Plate
Fire Fighter Plate
An applicant must present a signed Kansas State Fire Fighters Association Certificate and be
a Kansas resident when applying for a Fire Fighter plate. The name on the certification must
also be on the title and registration of the vehicle. If the vehicle is leased the name of the
applicant must appear on the title as well. There must be a signed certificate for each
vehicle to be tagged with a Fire Fighter plate. If the vehicle is currently tagged, the
current plate must be brought into the treasurer's office along with the current owner’s
registration and proof of insurance in exchange for the Fire Fighter Plate. A yearly
recertification certificate is required at the time of renewal. Retired Kansas Firefighters may
retain this plate, but the certification still applies. This tag is available for autos, trucks with
a gross weight less than 20,000 lbs, and motorcycles.
Cost: A one-time production fee of $45.50 plus registration, tag, title fees, and personal
property taxes.
Children's Trust Fund
Children's Trust Fund Plate
An applicant must have a certificate from The Children’s Trust Fund showing proof of a
$50.00 donation and be a Kansas resident. If the vehicle is leased, the applicant must have
his/her name on the title. Only cars trucks with a gross weight of 20,000 lbs or less qualify
for this plate. If the vehicle is currently tagged, the current plate must be brought into
the treasurer's office along with the current owner’s registration and proof of insurance in
exchange for the Children's Trust Fund plate. A yearly recertification certificate is required
at the time of renewal.
Cost: $5.50 in addition to registration, tag, title fees, and personal property taxes
Antique Vehicle Plate
Antique Plate
An antique vehicle is any vehicle that is at least 35 years old, powered by a motor using
petroleum fuel, steam, electricity, or a combination thereof, and has been brought back to its
original status. The owner must provide proof of ownership by presenting a properly
assigned title. If there is no title contact the treasurer's office for further documents
needed. This plate is also available for motorcycles.
Cost: $45.50 in addition to tag and title fees. Annual fees are $17.00 after the tag is issued,
$12.00 of which is personal property tax and $5.00 is an application fee.
You may also get a title only for an antique. The same vehicle age requirements exist, but no
insurance is necessary.
Cost: $10.00 title fee and $17.00 annual property tax.
Breast Cancer Research Plate
Breast Cancer Research Plate
An applicant must have a certificate filled out by the KU Cancer Center. If the vehicle is
leased, the applicant must have their name showing on the title. This plate is available
for autos and trucks with a gross weight of less than 20,000 lbs. An annual certification is
required when renewing plates. If it is a currently tagged vehicle you must bring in your
current plate to the Treasurer's office with current registration and proof of insurance to
receive the Breast Cancer Research Plate
Cost: A one time $5.50 fee will apply in addition to title fees, registration fees and personal
property taxes.
EMS Plate
EMS Plate
An applicant must have a certificate from the Kansas Board of Emergency Medical Services
and be a Kansas resident. If the vehicle is leased the applicant must have their name showing
on the title. This plate is available for autos, trucks with a gross weight of 20,000 lbs or less
and motorcycles. An annual certification of eligibility must be presented each year at
renewal. This plate shall not be transferable to any other person. If it is a currently tagged
vehicle you must bring in your current plate to the treasuer's office with current registration
and proof of insurance to receive the EMS Plate
Cost: A one time fee of $45.50 plus title fees, registration fees and personal property taxes.
Amateur Radio Plate
Amateur Radio Plate
An applicant will need to bring in a copy of their current call card or license. This plate is
available for autos and trucks with a gross weight of 20,000 lbs or less. This plate is good
for 5 years and then a new plate will be issued.
Cost: $1.50 plus title fees, registration fees and personal property taxes.

An applicant must present a signed certificate filled out by the Department of Agriculture and
be a Kansas resident when applying for a Ag in the Classroom plate. The name on the
certification must also be on the title and registration of the vehicle. If the vehicle is leased
the name of the applicant must appear on the title as well. If the vehicle is currently tagged,
the current plate must be brought into the treasurer's office along with the current owner’s
registration and proof of insurance in exchange for the Ag in the Classroom plate. A yearly
recertification certificate is required at the time of renewal. This tag is available for autos,
trucks with a gross weight less than 20,000 lbs.

An applicant must present a signed certificate filled out by the Shrine Temple and be a
Kansas resident when applying for a Shriner plate. The name on the certification must also
be on the title and registration of the vehicle. If the vehicle is leased the name of the
applicant must appear on the title as well. If the vehicle is currently tagged, the current
plate must be brought into the treasurer's office along with the current owner’s registration
and proof of insurance in exchange for the Shriner plate. A yearly recertification certificate
is required at the time of renewal. This tag is available for autos, trucks with a gross weight
less than 20,000 lbs.

In God We Trust Plate
In God We Trust Plate
This plate is available for any Kansas resident who owns or leases an auto, motorcycle,
travel trailer, or truck with a gross weight of 20,000 pounds or less. Applicant must bring in
their current plate, current owner's registration and proof of insurance.
Cost: A one time fee of $45.50 plus title fees, registration fees and personal property taxes.
