1. A virus is considered nonliving because they aren’t cells and do not possess the
characteristics that most living things do.
2. The difference between the lytic cycle and lysogenic cycle is that in the lytic
cycle, the host cell is killed while in the lysogenic cycle the host is killed.
3. A provirus is viral DNA that is integrated into a host cell’s chromosome.
4. Retroviruses convert their RNA to DNA using reverse transcriptase, which
creates double-stranded DNA.
