Precision Current Measurements on High Voltage Power Supply Rails
Precision Current Measurements on High Voltage Power Supply Rails

... with large input voltage rails such as high voltage batteries. A typical signal chain path for measuring current is to amplify the voltage developed across a current sensing resistor and direct that amplified signal to an Analog to Digital Converter. The input range of an ADC (whether discrete or in ...

Ledex® Drive Electronics and Coil Suppressors

... A voltage is generated by a changing magnetic field in proximity to a current-carrying member. The equation E = -Ndø/dt, describes this by saying that the magnitude of the voltage is proportional to the number of turns (N), i.e., of a coil, and the rate of change of a magnetic field. This theory can ...

Electrical ballast

An electrical ballast is a device intended to limit the amount of current in an electric circuit. A familiar and widely used example is the inductive ballast used in fluorescent lamps, to limit the current through the tube, which would otherwise rise to destructive levels due to the tube's negative resistance characteristic.Ballasts vary in design complexity. They can be as simple as a series resistor or inductor, capacitors, or a combination thereof or as complex as electronic ballasts used with fluorescent lamps and high-intensity discharge lamps.
