... A matrix is said to be in reduced echelon form if all of the following properties hold true: 1. All rows consisting entirely of zeros are grouped at the bottom. 2. The leftmost nonzero number in each row is 1 (called the leading one). 3. The leading 1 of a row is to the right of the previous row's l ...

A New Branch of Mountain Pass Solutions for the Choreographical 3

... Once the existence of a mountain pass critical point is established, we wish to study its main properties. To this aim we apply the bisection algorithm proposed in [7] to approximate the maximal of a locally optimal path joining the two strict global minimizers. Of course, there is no proof that the ...

System of polynomial equations

A system of polynomial equations is a set of simultaneous equations f1 = 0, ..., fh = 0 where the fi are polynomials in several variables, say x1, ..., xn, over some field k.Usually, the field k is either the field of rational numbers or a finite field, although most of the theory applies to any field.A solution is a set of the values for the xi which make all of the equations true and which belong to some algebraically closed field extension K of k. When k is the field of rational numbers, K is the field of complex numbers.
