... OPERATION The Hi-Test Arrester/Leakage Tester has two test leads which, when connected to the top and bottom of the arrester, enables the user to increase the DC voltage that is being applied to the arrester. The user can then measure the exact voltage at which the arrester conducts. The unit will d ...

... INTRODUCTION An AC (Alternating Current) signal is one whose value changes with time. The most commonly encountered AC signals are the sinusoid (sin or cos), the square-wave, and the triangular wave. These signals are easily obtained from a device known as a Function Generator. AC signals are specif ...

... The MAX8546 EV kit contains a step-down switching DC-DC converter. The switching frequency for the MAX8546 is internally set at 300kHz. The circuit uses two feedback resistors, R1 and R2, to set the output voltage. C10, C11, and R4 provide a compensation network for the MAX8546. D2 limits the initia ...

Current source

A current source is an electronic circuit that delivers or absorbs an electric current which is independent of the voltage across it.A current source is the dual of a voltage source. The term constant-current 'sink' is sometimes used for sources fed from a negative voltage supply. Figure 1 shows the schematic symbol for an ideal current source, driving a resistor load. There are two types - an independent current source (or sink) delivers a constant current. A dependent current source delivers a current which is proportional to some other voltage or current in the circuit.
