... Replace the 1k collector resistor in the circuit above by a 10k resistor. Try to make the measurements of the collector characteristics now with this larger collector resistor. Probably you find that when there is any base current at all, the voltage drop on the collector resistor is so large that y ...

... Adding C1 & C2 corrected this problem. Second, I learned that my ancient HP has significant output resistance when the meter is set to measure output current (actually the meter shunt resistance) –this too caused a sloppy threshold. Third, is that incandescent indicator lamps are all but obsolete –t ...

... and RTDs as shown in Figure 1. Thermocouple outputs produce very small changes (tens of microvolts per degree C) and the output will be negative if the thermocouple is colder than the “cold junction” connection from the thermocouple to the copper traces on the PCB. The RTD is measured by comparing t ...

... Abstract: Using PSPICE a resonant dc-dc converters operating at constant frequency was simulated. The paper concentrates on the working of a half bridge topology employing ZVS techniques. The operation of converter with LC filter in the output is discussed. The design and fabrication was done on a 5 ...

... C5, C8, and C10 should be 10nF disc ceramics with a selfresonant frequency greater than 10MHz. The polarized capacitors (C2, C4, C7, and C9) should be 1µF to 10µF tantalums. Most 10nF ceramics are self-resonant well above 10MHz, and 4.7µF solid tantalums (axial leaded) are self-resonant at 1MHz or b ...

... In order to talk about electricity, it is necessary first to talk about the atom. The idea of the “atom” has a long history, one extending back to about 600 B.C. and the time of the Ancient Greeks. They believed that all matter was made up of atoms. The word “atom” in fact comes from the Greek word ...

Metadyne

A metadyne is a direct current electrical machine with two pairs of brushes. It can be used as an amplifier or rotary transformer. It is similar to a third brush dynamo but has additional regulator or ""variator"" windings. It is also similar to an amplidyne except that the latter has a compensating winding which fully counteracts the effect of the flux produced by the load current. The technical description is ""a cross-field direct current machine designed to utilize armature reaction"". A metadyne can convert a constant-voltage input into a constant-current, variable-voltage output.
